Quaintrelle

Rather than start by saying that years of photography and planning have gone into the making of this book, I think it’s best to explain my decision and idea behind the Quaintrelle.

Over the years, I struggled with which photos of my travels to share, and what was aesthetically appropriate for my instagram, website, etc. I wasn’t sure if some of my favorites would ever be shared, or if anyone cared to see them. I tossed ideas back and forth with my parents, friends, and strangers at bars, and finally came to the conclusion that, these images are how I as a creative and traveler view my world. Would there be others that see it the way I do? Maybe. Would I miss out of sharing my vision of my life if I don’t follow through? Absolutely.

Thus, the creation of Quaintrelle emerged. Now, some of you may have noticed my title includes “Look it up” for the definition. If you haven’t followed directions, I guess I can give away this one for you.

In it’s official definition, Quaintrelle is…

“A woman who emphasizes a life of passion expressed through personal style, leisurely pastimes, charm, and cultivation of life’s pleasures.”

Essentially, Quaintrelle was the best term to describe the amalgamation of photographs I have taken over my years of travelling. A cultivation of my own life’s pleasures, so to speak.

I’m sure there is more I could tell you on this book, but that could take about as many years as it took me to collect all these photographs.
